Time out - Where healing and integration meet

Last week, I had an amazing time vacationing with my besties. 🥰

We did morning yoga on the beach, took long walks in nature and cruised down the Intracoastal on a catamaran at sunset. Our trip was filled with laughter, connection and - as is always the case when we're together - deep healing work.

This is the group where we always peel back the layers and peek into shadowed spaces - sometimes with the gentle flicker of a match, other times with the full force of a spotlight. 🔦

I left feeling expansive, open, and grateful.

And then as soon as I got home.. I got sick. 🤧

And I knew..

My body wasn’t just fighting off a bug. It was asking me for rest.

And if I didn't listen - I’d wind up really sick.

Because I needed a time out. I needed integration.

I always think of healing work like a spiritual exfoliation.

When we actively engage in inner work - shedding old wounds, rewriting limiting beliefs, breaking generational cycles - we’re shining light into our shadows. We’re stirring the depths of our being, dredging up what’s been buried for years (or lifetimes) so it can finally be released.

This is powerful work. And just like physical exfoliation removes dead skin to reveal fresh, vibrant skin beneath, spiritual exfoliation does the same for our energy. It clears away what no longer serves us so we can step into a brighter, stronger, more robust version of ourselves.

But the body, mind, and spirit need time to catch up with the shifts we’re making.

Rest is when those shifts settle in. When our nervous system recalibrates. When new truths take root.

Sometimes, sickness is divine intervention - a forced reset when we’ve ignored the whispers to slow down. It’s not a punishment; it’s an invitation.

An invitation to honor the wisdom of our bodies.

To listen to what we truly need.

To trust that doing nothing is sometimes the most productive thing we can do.

So if you find yourself in a time out - whether by choice or by force - see if you can surrender to it.

Trust that this pause is purposeful. That something is integrating beneath the surface. Allow yourself to sleep, to breathe, to just be.

Because when the time comes to move forward again, you’ll do so from a place of deeper alignment - with more clarity, strength, and readiness for whatever comes next.

This week, instead of creating a new meditation for you (because let's face it - head colds and voice recordings are not a great mix), I’m re-releasing one that feels perfectly aligned: Ease In To Rest and Sleep.

Whether you need deep relaxation, a moment to breathe, or permission to slow down, let this be your guide. And if you know someone else who could benefit, please share it with them.

Here's to embracing the quiet moments, trusting the unseen work, and allowing ourselves the grace to simply be. 🌟
